How to Change Your Microsoft Account Password
If you feel that your MS account password is exposed or compromised in any way, you can follow the steps below to change it:

- Select “Change password”.
- Enter your OLD password,
- Then, the NEW password you want to use, and then enter the NEW password again.

How to Remove a MS Account from a Windows 10 PC and Laptop
If someone had set up your Windows 10 PC or laptop with a different MS account other than your own account, you can remove such an account by taking two actions. First, you have to create a local account on your Windows 10 PC or laptop, before removing the other account. Here are the two steps:
Step 1: Create a local account on your Windows 10 PC or Laptop:
- Press the “Windows key + R”.
- Type “netplwiz”, and then click “OK”.
- Click “Add”.
- Tap “Sign in without a MS account (not recommended)”.
- Click “Local account”, type a “username”, and a “password” (if you’d like one).
- Tap “Next”, and then click “Finish”.
- Sign out of the “Microsoft account” you want to delete, sign in using the “local account” you created, and then remove the account you want to delete.
Step 2: Remove the Microsoft Account from your Windows 10 PC or laptop
- Click the “Start” button, and then tap “Settings”.
- Tap “Accounts”, scroll down, and then click the “Microsoft account” you would like to delete.
- Click “Remove”, and then Select Yes.
How to Recover or Reset Your MS Account Password
The steps are as follows:
- Enter your MS account username or email address. Users who have multiple accounts on their PCs should choose the one to reset.
- Click the “I forgot my password” below the password text box.
- When the Recover your account screen pops up, type the characters displayed in the box below “Enter the characters you see”, then select Next.
- Once the Verify your identity screen menu pops up, choose to receive your security code either as a text or email message. If you choose text, type the last four digits of your phone number, and then select Send code.
- If you get the code as a text or email message on a separate device, enter it and then select Next.
- On the Reset your password screen, enter a new password that you can easily memorize and then select Next. This sets your new password. Select Next again to return to the sign-in screen.
